We shot Michelle + Chris Engagement Session at Reverchon Park / Lee Park. It’s crazy to think that I have known Michelle for more than 10 years now, but I have! We met in high school and she has been a great friend over the years 🙂 Love to have shot their engagement session, thank you for driving up from Austin & I am wishing you guys best of luck in your marriage!! All I have to say, look at that RING!

2014 is coming on strong with so many blessings, changes, opportunities to grow and expand. I have been working on updating my website and transferring it to a new server, which is now complete!

I love the idea of being able to post images that you guys can pin automatically to Pinterest, comment directly from Facebook, and I think this will be an overall much better way of communicating, showing off the latest work & to write things I am excited about and want to share! Unfortunately, I am not able to backdate too many photography sessions as it takes so long to re-write or re-post past entrees, but from now on be on a look out for posts to this website and blog.

With over 30 weddings that I am doing in 2014 already, you are soon to see some exciting stuff coming soon. Up next is yet another gorgeous trip to one of my favorite places in the world, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I will be staying in one of the brand new hotels that opened up this year, and you will get to see more tropical photos soon. If you have not visited Dominican Republic, I strongly suggest it. The scenery, the people – it’s all worth it! *minus the non-direct flight from Dallas! #pleasemakedirectflightstobeautifulplaces!

I don’t think this view is ever going to get old….

Good night & Thanks for all your encouragement and support in 2014 and years to come!

When talking about the best portrait lenses most have their favorites: the 85mm 1.4G lens has been a favorite of most photographers for portraits, but this – this lens I am quite excited about! It arrived yesterday, and I will get to use it this weekend for some of the engagement shoots. For now I have used Fred, our Christmas decoration from my mantle – which we still have not taken down. Yes, I am aware this is now February. The Nikon 135mm 2.0 AF-D DC can create amazing bokeh at f/4 and is very sharp. It is a Nikon’s pro limited-production lens and not too many people own it!

Basically, I am totally excited to use this lens and can not wait to put it to work this weekend!

For someone that doesn’t do too much Macro photography other than details at weddings, I do have to say, I am absolutely in LOVE with the 105mm Nikon macro lens. It is spectacular in clarity, and none of the images even need an edit. It captures things with such detail that it makes me want to jump up and down and clap for joy. This was such a good purchase because I love beautiful things, and this will continue to create a ton of beautiful images for me for quite a long time! Here is the Nikon Website for it!
