When Kassie told me she wanted a mix of cool architecture and nature, I knew the exact place I wanted to take them to here in Dallas, The SMU Campus! I love this area because at sunset, the photos turn out exactly like this – unique and the light is unbelievable. There were so many tulips out at this time, which is Kassie’s favorite flower. Looking forward to take photos of you guys on your Big Day! And congratulations to you both!!

Meet Ashley & Jimmy! I got to spent a few hours in their company yesterday – they are a super sweet and down to earth couple, very much in love, and rocked their engagement session even though Ashley was freezing the whole time! I am super excited to photograph their wedding, as it will be at a winery later this year. Congratulations!

The new Nikon D4s. WOW. I felt like I was coming home from a hospital with a new baby today. I even put the bag in the front seat instead of the trunk, you know, just in case… just so I can keep an eye on it. And maybe one hand on it as well!

I couldn’t wait to open it, and when I did, boy was I excited to snap away some photos. As many of you are aware, my slight obsession with anything the color of tiffany blue continues. So, why wouldn’t I take the first photos of some of my Tiffany & Co boxes and my own ring?? These were shot at f/5 at various bigh ISOs. I am very impressed with the ISO of 8000 on this camera. These images look about as good as some on the D700 at 1600. Fantastic quality, and I am very, very excited to try it out on people this weekend!

These images have been 100% straight out of the camera, 100% untouched other than the DNG conversion to JPG I had to perform due to Lightroom 5.3 not having the ability to read these files yet. Waiting on Lightroom 5.4 release for that! Settings were on auto white balance around 7PM at night. The Tiffany & Co box and ring set photos are shot from ISO 7,000 +.

This is another set of photos that I decided to take the first night of my camera ownership and expanded the ISO a little more. Still, beautiful images straight out of camera.  0 Editing. This was shot with my Nikon D4s and a 35mm 1.4GPIN

As you can guess I love photography. I love the art of taking photos & capturing memories. I love looking at the photos after I take them and going through the emotions again, gleaming on how powerful these memories will be to you. When I think about the way that I capture your photos, I put pride in them  and the whole experience is very special to me.

This also means that I want the best! I have been eyeing this camera and anticipating its release all last year. The Nikon D4s is the flagship camera, and the best camera Nikon currently has for professional photographers. It debuted last week of February 2014 and first orders started to come through first week in March. I still can’t believe I am holding mine in my hands at Week 3 of release.

I am so blessed to be able to have my hands on it and start taking photos today. I walked in to Competitive Cameras in Dallas and literally smelled the insides of the camera box! Ha! We all laughed at me for a while, but it was really an amazing moment of accomplishment and pride for me. This is one of the biggest investments I have made into my business, but in my opinion totally worth it! Thank you for all the support, and as always, enjoy your beautiful photos!

My next post will contain sample photos from the new camera, and show astonishing results at high ISO. Amazing quality! Check out this Amazing Video made about its capabilities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_WrjN6Boqo&feature=youtu.be

NEVER BE AFRAID TO DREAM BIG!
