TRAVEL BLOG – TURKS AND CAICOS, ARUBA, DOMINAN REPUBLIC SAONA ISLAND, CURACO | ANNA SMITH PHOTOGRAPHY

Travel. I love it, and yes, the idea of a next vacation drives me forward!

2014-4-anniversary cruise -59

Last week I had the excitement of taking a week off to cool down – or is it warm up, relax and enjoy some of the Caribbean’s best beaches in Turks and Caicos, Aruba, Saona Island in Dominican Republic and Curaco. I typically feel pretty claustrophobic on a cruise ship, but leaving out of Miami on the Carnival Breeze was a great experience. Having 4 port days really helped, and for the first time ever I actually decided to book a balcony cabin which was subsidized by our marginal winnings in the Casino later! Taking a very short break from love, weddings, and engagement photos – this is what happens when I am not strapped for time, and can enjoy breathing in the beauty that surrounds us. I actually asked quite a bit on this cruise if people took what they see for granted, and I think we get used to everything around us eventually – but boy, some of these places are so beautiful. Hats off goes to Saona Island in the Dominican Republic as the most beautiful beach we visited on this trip. I am a frequent visitor to Dominican Republic, and this is why!

Enjoy the photos and make sure to make time for experiences and memories. Life is really short, and I think I am learning that life experiences are more valuable then anything tangible that we can buy and keep.
